Digital Micro-Thruster Chip
THE DIGITAL PROPULSION "ROCKET CHIP" consists of a three-layer
sandwich of silicon and
glass.
packaged in a standard 24-pin
ceramic dual-inline electronics package. This prototype
contains 15 individual thrusters, in the central 3 by 5 array.
The visible bond wires are connected to resistors in each
thruster that initiate combustion of the
lead styphnate
fuel.
